Schecter DG w/Duncan DD/JB + Mesa/Boogie Quad MarkIIc+ (mix test 2 w/1073 impulses)

Tried to mix and master using only the Neve 1073 EQ impulses from the Redwirez Big Box set via the MixIR2. The drums are the only track where I kept all the crazy EQs and plugins and just added the 1073 on top of that. Used the PSPMixSaturator2+Waves L3 on the mix then decided one more pass of Waves L3 on the bounced track because it was a bit thick still. (actually no bass guitar in this so might be a different ballgame next time just thought A/B this since it was the last thing I did with the Quad and you can compare).

Just something to play around with until I get my Daking Mic Pre One. Thought these impulses improved the sound a lot. Real easy to create any kind of sound without a bunch of EQ-ing and plugins. My favorite plug Mellowmuse EQ1A I can't even use any more lol. Next time I will track with a nice clean Trident flavored hardware preamp boost and at 24/96. Trying out a reel to reel also for some real saturation also.

Short mix test. Duncan Distortion Bridge SH-6B w/JB (SH-4) in the neck position (which I was told is actually a bridge pickup also - had to boost the low end a little and it is still really bridge like but I think I like it).

I used the PDI-09 for one rhythm track and for both lead tracks. I blended the Eleven Rack mic/cab (c30+57 on) more on the left side and the PDI-09 rhythm track more on the right. Still trying to decide the best combination or whether I should just use the PDI-09 on everything and just switch channels on the Quad for stereo imaging rhythms or what.

I think this shows off the Quad Preamp better than any of my other posts.

In anticipation of getting a PDI09, I started to think of ways I could use it by playing around with the Ultra G which has a similar signal path and cab emulation. What I did was send the XLR to a compressor so I could send that and the regular sound into the Eleven Rack's line inputs so there is a processed and unprocessed sound. Both are still running through the Eleven Rack cab block and FX, so not quite the best example as ideally I would make sure to record the direct tone separately through the mic input or something.
