Sloppily playing some riffs, trying to find a good recorded tone with the DSL100H and some 80's G12T-75's. This is all on Ultra/Lead 1 mode.

Starts out with some Holy Wars, with the master at 2, Gain at 7, Bass and Mids at 6, treble at 5, Res at 6, Pres at 4. When it goes into some sloppy ass 5150 followed by some random riffing of mine, I up the Master to 3, drop the gain to 6, and put the mids up to 7.

The whole time the mic is around where the dust cap meets the cone, about 1.5" - 2" back from the grill.

Intro part to a song I'm working on...miking the 75 is a pain. It's very fickle but I think with some work I can find a sweet spot. This is not it exactly...

So I lied, this is as far as I got making a cover of Dio's Caught in the Middle before I got bored with the idea. I'm sure I didn't do it right, but I think the tone is pretty close, albeit brighter due to the type of guitar.

Tiny section of Dio's Caught in the Middle. I intend to do the whole song but am still screwing around with the drums. I think the tone is pretty close though.

Made guitars more prominent in the mix.

I think the Sheffield 1200 doesn't quite deserve the level of hate it receives. A bit mushy on the bottom but sits fairly nicely in the mix with some good midrange crunch. Minor EQ on the guitars for mixing purposes but nothing to really change the tone, not even a high cut.
